As much money as I pull on reports over the last 1 1 / 2 years spent figure I sense to a monitoring service. I want one, let me pull my 3b reports as often as I need and check my fico is when to use forever. Does anyone use proposals on the best companies out there? THANK YOU!
Best Answer: Credit monitoring doesn't prevent ID theft because you are only notified after someone has applied for credit.
It's best to safeguard your personal information w/ these measures:

http://www.consumersunion.org/creditmatt…

However, it is still worthwhile to check your credit reports to make sure you are in the clear. "Foley's recommendation: set up your own mini-monitoring service by requesting your free credit report from each of the bureaus. "Check one the first four months of the year. Second four months, you check another one. Third four months, you check the third one."

Reply:Thanks, I appreciate the response. I thought that I was reading it right when it said ficos for equifax only, but I also thought that there might be another subscription that allowed all 3 that I wasn't finding. Thanks again!!
Reply:aints,
please understand that when you pull your report from privacy guard, they are not true fico scores. they are privacy guards interpretation of what they think your fico would be. they are not the real thing and they are not totally accuarate. look at my signature in this post and you will see what i mean.
on myfico, you can continually pull equifaxes score, however you can't get the total report all the time.
i have privacy guard for watching what gets posted to my report. it is not accurate for monitoring my scores, though.
Reply:If anyone could enlighten me on myfico would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Reply:I'm also wondering about myfico. It says on there that you can continue to pull your fico but if I'm understanding correctly, you only get the one score. What are you guys doing in order to get all 3 fico scores whenever?
Reply:Thanks for all of the input. From everything I've been investigating, I can't find one single company that will let you pull your credit whenever with any of the 3 cra's. They all let you pull an initial 3 report, and most of them let you pull your credit whenever, but it's only with their affliated cra. If anyone out there has found one that uses all 3 cra's on an ongoing basis, please let me know. THANKS!
I've used www.mycreditkeeper.com and have been fairly happy with them. They let me pull 3b reports daily. It also offers fako scores, and costs $9.99 a month. It seems decent, but doesn't list any soft inq on any of the reports. They also get some information wrong on EQ, but for the most part I'm happy with them.

Reply:It also says on there that after the trial, they will bill you monthly and then after a year the will bill you at the current rate. So what is their actual yearly subscription fee?

Reply:I am not sure about the alerts part, I never really payed to much attention to that, but the PG account set up you can do online, then they send you a security code in the mail to access it for the first time, but you do not have to wait, all you have to do it call PG and tell them you would like your code, they will verify you with a few pieces of info and give it to you right over the phone.

Reply:Thanks for the website post. Before I posted this question, this was one of the sites I went to, but everyone's right about not being able to sign up online. There's nothing posted on there opening website to click to, you have to call them on the phone. I'm still a little hesitant though. I know you said that you can pull your report from all 3 everyday if you want, but what the are saying on their site is daily monitoring from "A" major credit bureau. Maybe that means they are just monitoring one for changes that affect you but that you can still pull all 3, or they might have changed the package they are offering. Any advice appreciated! THANKS!!!

Reply:signed up for http://www.identityguard.com but they only seem to update every 3 months..however they did have all the information and address for CA that I didn't have…so it was useful..apart from that I just keep PG,myfico.com and do direct pulls if I need to accurately verify the information..I find PG is not always 100%, so baseline yourself by seeing what the direct pulls have and what PG has

Reply:I found this link when doing searches through other forums, they are not offering a monthly fee of $12.99 a month afterwards to very many people, I think it is a Pilot they are doing, but when you click on the link, look to the left at the small black print.. Then reason I sent the link straight here is because, if you got to the main PG paig, you will not get this deal..

Reply:Here you go… I am also using PG currently myself, if you go straight to the PG site given they only offer $1 for 2 months then the $100+ annual fee, If if you plan on keeping it longer, thats pretty steep. But I was doing some searches and found a link that gives you a $12.99 a month after the trial. I am not sure if signing up straight from going to PG site gives you the 3CR and 3 Scores, but this one does.

Reply:If you search a bit.. there are a few web addresses posted where you can try the 1 dollar trial for 2 months where you can sign up online. Good Luck! -Jenn
Reply:looks like no one really has anything bad to say about PG. I had some trouble with them when I went to cancel because we had the 3 month free thing. Be cause DH and I were both using the system, even though we were under different credit cards, they took 2 days longer to cancel his because we were "in the same household".
they did refund my money and the bank reversed the over draft charges caused by the Full year payment up front that they charged my bank account.
But, for the most part, I am satisfied with their service. Its good to use if you are just watching your reports, while you are disputing etc.
The only way to get all the info you need is to buy your full report.
I would recommend buying a new one every quarter. If you are doing aggressive repair.

I have heard that you have to sign up via the phone now. I am a sold customer, but make sure they get your billing right.

They are my choice as well for monitoring.
Reply:Where can this Privacy Guard service be found? Website? Address? Phone?
THanks
Reply:pg= privacy guard. I too am a satisfied customer. Solid service.
If you want to get a hard copy of an actual bureau credit report, I too just claim denied credit and presto I get a new report. Also, you can work off that report by disputing something every 60 days or just claim denied again.
Reply:I don't know what PG is. Don't laugh.
Reply:PG is the best for monitoring. I pull PG everyday. I pull my credit report whenever… in disputes (once they are returned) they must send you a new copy. You can work off of those forever. In the case I am not disputing lately.. I just claim denied credit or whatnot. It is not hard to get a free CR. I pull MyFico every 3-6 months when I know a few things have changed or updated. I don't know that there is anything to pull Ficos daily.. but I don't really see that it is nessesary. I hope that helps some. Good Luck!! -Jenn
Reply:I'd like to know this too–I actually tried freecreditreport.com, but the problem is, they are an experian company, which means they only really complete information they give is for their own company. I was disappointed because they didn't give the contact information for any of the creditors, except for the ones listed on their report–and I have stuff that's 10 years old that my ex husband put on there. It's not like I have that information!
I suppose it doesn't matter that much, but I would have appreciated something a little more complete if I was going to be paying for it every month.
