HSBC charge off / refused PFD [interest portion] [debt collector]

I gave HSBC the original amount on a charged off credit card payable, net of interest, in return for a payment for the cancellation. They responded by mail and told that they do not. I offer the same amount and ask “paid as agreed” after a? together with a written warranty claims, that the interest component will not be sold to a debt collector?
rn only try to negotiate and save some $ $ $ $ in the process.

Reply:It was charged off in August 2007. Times have been tough and they charged it off before I could catch up, I have two small CapitalOne cards in the same boat.
